Meatball Bagel Sandwich
Written by cnoonz on January 6th, 2010 · 743 viewsLeftover spaghetti sauce and meatballs from the weekend but not in the mood for more pasta? Try this tasty recipe for a meatball bagel sandwich.

Ingredients:
Leftover Sauce and Meatballs
Garlic Powder
Choice of cheese
Choice of bagel
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. First, toast the bagel and spread with butter. Next, sprinkle a little garlic powder over the surface of the bagel. Take the sauce and meatballs and heat in the microwave for about 1 minute. Cut the meatballs into thin slices and layer on 1 half of the bagel. Next top with the sauce on the same half of the bagel. For the other side of the bagel, layer with your favorite kind of cheese. I have used string cheese, an Italian blend or just Parmesan. Place the bagel halves face up on the cookie sheet and toast in the oven for about 10 minutes, until the cheese and sauce is bubbly.
This dish goes great with soup or a salad!

This sounds really really good. Have you tried using frozen meatballs in a bag?
Hi thank you for this!!!
BUT where is the finished product photo, I don’t ever, ever, cook anything unless I know what it will look like!!! Please with a photo!
I think you can use your imagination for the finished product. Just merge the meatball with the bagel.
Do you slice the meatball first?
Yum. I mixed all the cheezes you mentioned above and ended up with an awesome lunch. Much better than it sounds. @snakeoil stfu and make the effin sandwich and then maybe you will know what it looks like
Umm… I was the original inventor of the meatball quesadilla, this is, in a way, ripping off my idea completely….
Last time I checked, a tortilla shell and a bagel were totally different ingredients?
I did this with mini bagels – toasted the bagels. then added a small layer of sauce. Then a 3/16 slice of 2″ round meatball (cooked the buca du beppos style – big meantballs) covering the bagel. then more sauce on the slice of meatball- then shredded cheese on top. put it all on a pizza stone – drop in oven for 15 min.
dude. to die for. seriously good – my family thought I was a magician.
great inspiration – thanks!

I improved on this sandwich a little bit, and thought i would offer a couple of variations here:
1. Make the meatball bagel sandwich EXACTLY as described above.
2. Go to Carl’s subs (http://www.thecheesesteakguys.com/menu_carls.htm) and order a foot long cheesesteak for pick-up. You definitely want to call ahead, these guys are always slammed.
3. Bring your meatball bagel sandwich with you when you go to pick it up.
4. Grab a diet coke from the cooler (helps fight obesity).
5a. If eating it on the tables outside, use the meatball bagel to hold your napkins down while you eat the sub. Then proceed to eat the meatball bagel.
5b. If taking the sub home, carefully unwrap the sub, and place the meatball bagel sandwich inside the sub, close it up, and eat.
Viola!
